Bliss in the Barn is located at 11770 Charles Street, La Plata, MD 20646 on the historic Zekiah Ridge Farm and Flowers. Our family farm is home to an authentic, historic tobacco barn—a true Southern Maryland treasure.

While weddings are our specialty, Bliss in the Barn is proud to host a variety of events, including corporate gatherings, baby showers, birthdays, private parties, fundraising events, and more!

Bliss in the Barn is the only authentic tobacco barn in Maryland licensed for events. Built in the late 1930s with dovetail construction, the barn’s design includes doors on all four sides for airflow—a vital feature for drying tobacco. The barn’s natural dirt floor and historic charm set it apart from pre-engineered event spaces. Furthermore, the farm has been in our owner Cindy’s family for more than half a century and it's her mission to ensure love continues to bloom here!

Bliss in the Barn is available for events from April through October. Now booking for 2025/26.

Yes! Tours can be scheduled by emailing us at blissinthebarn@gmail.com, sending us a message on social media, or directly contacting Cindy Bliss, the owner, who will work with you to find a time that suits your schedule.

Call or text 240-882-5003. Since Cindy lives on-site caring for the farm, her schedule is flexible. For your convenience, we also offer virtual tours!

Bliss in the Barn can comfortably host up to 200 guests, making it a perfect choice for both intimate and larger gatherings. The adjacent field can accommodate any size tent and there are acres of land available for lawn games, parking, and watching the sunset.

Please Note: For hourly events, we can only accommodate a maximum capacity of 75 guests.

Our barn provides a stunning blank canvas with indoor and outdoor flexibility, perfect for any special occasion. Each event is unique, and our owner works closely with clients to adapt the barn and surrounding farm spaces to your needs. We love seeing how clients decorate to bring their vision to life. However, we ask that you do not damage the barn's historic features.
